Maybe the normal procedure is that they paint the german flag since the aircraft is delivered in Hamburg and then, when these Aircrafts are in their own country to take service for their own airlines, the german flag will be removed ?
    Is it like that ?

    Schönes Photos !

Hamburg is a good place for spotters since in Finkenwerden it is possible to see aircrafts belonging to airlines from all over the world (the airbus to be delivered) that in other cities would be not possible...
Such companies as "Volaris" - for example - would be not seen in other countries than Mexico and the American continent.

It looks like that Turkish Airlines has a new livery.
    Just look at the tail.
If I am not wrong, the pin tail was red WITHOUT the white circle.
I have noticed that also in Malpensa.
Also when I saw it in Malpensa I said: "Ehi, there is something strange in the turkish livery..."

    Vielen Dank.

    Just think about a Hub-Airport.
    What is a Hub ?
Frankfurt am Main, for example, is a Hub-Airport.
    Why ?
Because, for example, if I live in Hamburg and I want to fly to New York, then I have to fly to Frankfurt.
When I will be in Frankfurt, then I will fly to New York.
I could also fly to London Heathrow or Paris Charles De Gaulle.
Indeed, London Heathrow and Paris Charles De Gaulle are Hubs too.
London Heathrow is a British Airways Hub.
Paris Charles De Gaulle is an Air France Hub.
Frankfurt am Main is a Lufthansa Hub.
Depending wether I choose British Airways, Air France or Lufthansa, then I will fly
    Hamburg-London-New York or
    Hamburg-Paris-New York or
    Hamburg-Frankfurt-New York.
Any time that you can say: "I went to New York VIA ABCD", then you can say that ABCD is a Hub Airport.
When you will be on board of the aircraft to New York, you will fly together with many other passangers.
Maybe, you will ask them: "Where do you come from ?"
Maybe someone will reply: "I come from Dresden".
Another will reply. "I come from Warsaw".
Another will reply: "I come from Mailand".
Another will reply: "I come from Leipzig".
So, all these passangers have flown to Frankfurt to fly to New York.
    Why ?
    Basicly for two reasons:
    1. There is no direct flight from their city to New York.
    2. There is a direct flight but they want to fly to New York on a Lufthansa flight.
So, we can say that a Hub Airport is "fed" by flights coming from many other airports throughout the country, throughout Europe and even throughout the world.
Untill 2008, Mailand Malpensa was a Hub Airport.
    It was an Alitalia Hub.
Until 2008, people from Milan could fly to many cities in the world by non-stop Alitalia flights.
Furthermore, many people throughout Italy were flying to Malpensa to fly to their final destinations by Alitalia flights.
    In 2008 Alitalia quit Malpensa.
From that moment on, Malpensa kept on having Alitalia flights but it was no longer an Alitalia Hub.
    Many Alitalia flights were cancelled.
    But luckily Lufthansa came in.
    "Don't worry !" - Lufthansa said.
"What's the problem ? Many Alitalia flights have been cancelled so that people from Milan have no flights to reach their destinations ?
Don't worry ! From now on, people from Milan will be able to reach some destinations in Italy and Europe by Lufthansa flights !"
On that occasion a new Airline was born.
    Its name was: "Lufthansa-Italia".
    Its Hub was Mailand Malpensa.
But - unfortunately - the Business of the new Airline was not going well.
    Why ?
Because in Mailand Malpensa there was already another Airline that was operating the same flights to the same destinations as Luthansa-Italia.
The name of this Airline is "EasyJet". :s
That's why Lufthansa-Italia has decided to quit when this summer will be ended.

    My opinion is:
Lufthansa-Italia should not "clone" EasyJet by offering the same service as EasyJet.
On my opinion, Lufthansa-Italia should have operated Long Haul Intercontinental flight non stop from Milan.
In Milan we should have seen A340-600, B747-400, A340-300, A330 Lufthansa in place of the A319 Lufthansa-Italia.
In this way, Lufthansa would have replaced Alitalia without suffering the competition of EasyJet that only operates point-to-point short-range flights.
Someone says that Lufthansa could not because Alitalia still has the Intercontineltal Slots and Alitalia does not give these Slots to Lufthansa.
To be honest, I don't know...
Who knows what's the point ???

Allen einen Guten Tag ! :)

At least, untill October when "Lufthansa Italia" will be off ).
I payed for it only 200 Euro).

Hier Ich war unten einem A320 (oder A321, I do not remember) Alitalia

I love this street: it is the street that leads to the Dressing-Room when I finish Working and I can go Home !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P

In July 2010 We had THE HONOUR and THE PRIVILEGE to host the A380 LUFTHANSA in Malpensa.
In Mailand Malpensa we are PROUD to say that we host the A380 LUFTHANSA before other Airports in Europe and in the World.
    Even before some german Airports

Just admire how Majestic the A380 is !

Under the Belly of a MD-11 Cargo Alitalia (now probably operating for Cargo Italia)

    Nebel in Mailand Malpensa.
Probably Approaching operation in CAT III C.
In Foggy days some traffics are diverted to other Airports because a larger separation is needed. Furthermore, some Aircrafts and/or some Crew are not certificated to land in thick fog

Koffer inside a MD-80 Alitalia Hold Compartment

These two drivers have a strange face... :-/ :D

    Alles klar. Danke !
    I had a window seat.
I enjoyed a wonderful sight of the Finkenwerden Flughafen ("VON OBEN" wie du die deutsche sagen  ), die ELBE mit den Schiffen, eben den Rathaus from a far distance, die Landungsbrücken, etc.
Wahnsinn ! (do you say like that in german ?)

Und dann einen overflew over Blankenese before landing to Rwy05 .
    Toll !

But both when I overflew Finkenwerden while my plane was on final approach to EDDH Rwy 05 and when I took einen Bummel in Blankenese, I could see from a distance that some A380s were parked in Finkenwerden.
    Warum ?
Maybe because the various Airbus Plants have different tasks ?
For example: to Finkenwerden come all the Airbus planes produced no-matter where (also from Toulouse) to get painted in the various airlines liveries colours.
    Is that the case ?
What are the specific tasks of Finkenwerden and Touluse-Blagnac ?

    P.S.

When I was in Hamburg I wondered if Finkenwerder is open to the public for a visit. I think that it would be nice if it is. Like a "Museum" or a "Messe". You pay an entrance-fee and then you visit one of the places (along with Touluse) where they make the Airbus aircrafts
    Also meine Frage ist:
ist Finkenwerder offen zu besuchen ?

I will try to write in german.
    I'm studying german.
I want to learn german since I watch many tv programms and videos on my Satellite-TV and internet that I find very interesting.
    Including programms about Aviation.
But unfortunately (for me) they are in german language... :(
That's why I want to learn the german language.
Furthermore If I learn german I have an opportunity to practise it since the swiss city of Brig is a german speaking city and is only two hours driving from my italian city (where I live).
As far as pictures from Italy is concerned, unfortunately I have not a professional photocamera.
I have just a small digital photocamera.
Milan Malpensa Airport has two parallel Runways:
    17L - 35R and
    17R - 35L.
    There is a well-known Spotting-Point alongside the Runway 17L -35R.
Normal operations in Malpensa consist always on Runways 35R / 35L used both for landing and take-off. That's due to the fact that the prevailing winds are from north.
Only in rare cases when there is strong wind from south, Runway 17L is used for landing.
Sometimes, expecially during the night, the Runway 17R can be used for take-off (expecially for south operations).
Having said that I could take photos if I went to the spotting point.
But - as I said - due to my poor photocamera - the quality of the photos would be poor too... :(
Of course, in internet there are plenty of photos taken in Malpensa.
Particularly nice are those photos with the Dofourspitse (4634 m high) in foreground.
Also the aircraft are interesting since in Malpensa operate such planes as the Boeing 777-300 Singapore, the Boeing 777-300 Emirates, the Airbus A340-300 TAM, the Boeing 777-300 Thai, the Boeing 777-200 Alitalia, the Boeing 747-400 Cathay Pacific, the Boeing 747-400 Korean Air, etc.
Malpensa is being the home-base of Lufthansa-Italia until October.

    Allen Guten Tag !
    (I am a worker).
Ich lade die Koffer auf die Flugzeuge.
(I load and unload baggages, mail and cargo into the aircrafts).[color=#FF0000]
Also ich besuchte zwei mal Hamburg.

  • Moin Moin liebe Airbus-Fans.
